Withnell Fold Primary School
A small school is unique but creates a wonderful family atmosphere where every child is cared for in an individual manner, every family is known and cherished. Withnell Fold School promotes self confidence, independence and a feeling of belonging.
Our small village school is situated off the A674 between Chorley and Blackburn and offers a broad and balanced curriculum and a wide and varied primary education and a wealth of opportunities to develop interests and an understanding of a wider world.
Our school was originally situated in the Chapel but when it was outgrown a new building was created in 1897. This is still a typical Victorian single storey school in the corner of the square with two modern extensions; one built in 1999 to create inside toilets, staffroom and new Key Stage 1 classroom. After a few years an additional new build created a new Reception class, kitchen, ICT room. We now have 78 pupils taught in 3 mixed age classes. Foundation Stage are taught in their cohort with some occasions for continuous provision with Year 1. A far cry from the original entries in the log books and admission register!
Our curriculum is creative, fun and full of opportunity. We recognise individual talent and achievement and ensure the individual makes progress in line with their potential.
Every child is nurtured and developed and due to our organisation and numbers can be taught to the individual strengths. Support is on hand should additional support be required.
